You need a half-face respirator with organic vapor cartridges (N95 is not sufficient — it filters particles, not chemical vapors). 3M 6000 or 7000 series half-facepieces with P100/Organic Vapor combination cartridges are the standard choice among beekeepers. Also wear nitrile gloves and safety glasses. Work upwind of the hive entrance so vapor blows away from you. Never lean over the entrance during or immediately after treatment.
